Lookup Contact Activity - Keep track of who's slipping through the cracks

There's a somewhat hidden search option in ACT! that allows you to search almost all areas of a contact record for the last time that contact was edited.  This search option can help you find those contacts that haven't been "touched" in a while, and not let them slip away.
On the main contact screen layout, there are a few fields (system fields, you cannot edit them) that show the last time a contact was emailed, had a meeting, called, sent a letter, etc.  However, if you don't record every call, or every email sent, but *do* use Notes and/or History to record info, this search option is what you would use.

Go to the menu item Lookup>Contact Activity. A small window will come up asking if your looking for:

  • Contacts that have not changed (or changed)
  • a date to search from
  • what to search in: Notes, History, Activities, Opportunities, and Contact Fields

This search option also helps in that you can search all fields at once - you don't have to lookup Last Letter, Last Call, Last Email - but rather search all at once.  Give it a try and find out which contacts are waiting for you to get a hold of them.
