Return of SideACT as ScratchPad in SageACT! 2012

Longtime users of SageACT! CRM software will remember an "old" feature called SideACT, which ran in the taskbar and allowed quick access to some popular task commands. Well, good news for those with much patience - in the new version of SageACT! they've added that back, and now it's called Scratchpad.

The SageACT! Scratchpad is actually a separate application that provides a way to keep a list of tasks - work or personal - that you need to do or items that you want to make note of. Essentially a virtual to-do list, you can use the SageACT! Scratchpad when SageACT! is open or when it is closed, and items from SageACT! Scratchpad will be sent to the SageACT! database that the user is currently logged into. Additionally, it works will both Pro and Premium 2012 versions - and via ACT Premium for Web access!

With the SageACT! Scratchpad, you can:
  • Add, edit, or delete items.
  • send items SageACT! as notes, histories, or activities
  • Format items with bold or italics to mark them as special or important.
  • Move items up and down the list to reorder them.
  • Mark items as complete.
  • Print your list to take with you.
  • Minimize it to your taskbar for easy access at any time.
SageACT! Scratchpad is accessible via:
  • A shortcut on your desktop when you installed Sage ACT! or Start>Programs>SageACT!>SageACT! ScratchPad
  • Under the Do More With Sage ACT! on the Welcome Page
  • In ACT!, on the menu Tools>Sage ACT! Scratchpad.
Once the Sage ACT! Scratchpad is open you can use the buttons as described in the image below.
